2017 Infiniti Q70 Price And Release Date
The Q70 is Infiniti’s current flagship but it has been around since 2009, and it was slightly redesigned for 2015 model. It is still behind and can’t be matched by its newer competitors such as the CTS or even the all new E-Class. Things are about to change significantly with the release of the 2017 Infiniti Q70 that will be upgraded and with much more modern features.
While Infiniti already updated most of their other models in the lineup, the Q70 have been left behind because most of their profit came from cars such as the Q50 and Q30. The upcoming 2017 Infiniti Q70 is now going to be based on an entirely new platform which it will share with the cheaper Q50. This is not necessarily a bad thing considering both Mercedes and Audi are doing the same thing with their big and luxury sedans.
Sedan
This also means that the car’s current ancient and very heavy chassis will be discontinued in the favor of a lighter and more durable unibody construction. While the base will be similar to that of the Q50, the two cars will have little to nothing in common with each other. In fact, the large Q70 will receive a longer wheelbase and a wider track as well as a longer body. This will allow it to compete with its rivals while maintaining a good price point as well as it will give Infiniti the chance to build the two cars on the same production line.
Release Date
The release date should be set sometime in the mid of 2017, and the car will most likely be available for sale starting with the last quarter of the same year. One thing is still not clear and that is if this sedan and its new generation will be promoted as 2017 or it will be released as a 2018 model.
2017 Infiniti Q70
While the 2017 Infiniti Q70 is still under development, it is safe to assume that the car will take a lot of inspiration from the design of their newest models such as the Q50 and Q60. The long hood and rather short back end are still going to be found on the new vehicle, but the car’s front fascia will be completely revamped. Also, the lines of the body will be changed to make for a more athletic look that will give it a fighting chance against cars such as the E-Class or the 5 Series. A couple of new trim levels are also expected to be released in the future which will allow the car to be marketed towards a broader audience.
Coupe
Among the most interesting models in the lineup of the 2017 Infiniti Q70 will be the coupe version. Even this model has been only in rumors mill we certainly do hope to see it offered on the market. It is clear that there is a space for something like this. Mercedes certainly offers few quite interesting coupes that are based on sedans, and there are no reasons for Infiniti not to do something similar.
Inside the cabin, the Q70 should be almost identical to the older model in the sense that it will offer the same type of luxurious cabin filled with technology. Something we are used to see from Infiniti. This time around, though, the dashboard will get a much classier look than what we get from the current version, while its instrument cluster is now expected to be a fully digital customizable screen. A four-seat model should be released in the near future as well, but this particular version should only come to the Chinese market.
Specs
Engine wise, the base model of the 2017 Infiniti Q70 is going to use same 3.7-liter V6 unit that pumps out 330 hp. More power will come from the V8 unit with a 5.6-liter displacement that is good for 420 hp. The same seven-speed automatic gearbox will remain the only choice giving its buyers only the option to choose the car with either rear or all-wheel drive. No matter which engine you choose, you will be quite pleased with performances while the fuel economy at the best will be 18/26 mpg which is not all that fantastic.
One of the things that we would love to see is the turbocharged engine. Currently, this one is mentioned only in rumors and according to what we could hear it could come in two different tunes. A Less powerful version of 3.0-liter V6 turbo unit could offer about 300 hp while twin turbo version could go all the way up to 400 hp. It is clear that there is a possibility for these two engines to replace currently available units and even they could come with slightly lower hp figures additional torque that is generated would allow even better performances.
2017 Infiniti Q70 Price
The price could be slightly lower than that of the previous generation or at the same level but this time with a bit more equipment. Expect the new Q70 to start right around $50,000 while the versions with all-wheel drive will cost about $2,000 to $2,500 extra. Top trim with more powerful engine should go for around $65,000.
